Our Team By Level
ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
As Artistic Director, Colin Ford brings decades in the hair industry to FORD Salon, including 13 years as Director of Education and Events for L’Oreal Professionnel Canada in Montreal and two years as International Director of Education for L’Oreal Professionnel in Paris. He represented New Zealand at the World Championships of Hairdressing and coached the national team twice. Colin sets FORD Salon’s creative and technical direction, built the education program every stylist trains on, and takes select clients by consultation. The rest of his time goes to making sure every guest, and every stylist, gets FORD Salon at its best.
MASTER STYLIST
Master Stylists have excelled in every area of the craft: business, creativity, experience and education. They’ve built a thriving, results-driven clientele, pushed their creative work to a career-defining level, logged years behind the chair, and invested deeply in their own continuing education along the way. Masters are the standard the rest of the team measures itself against, and they play a hands-on role in shaping FORD Salon’s training and technical direction.
CREATIVE STYLIST
Creative Stylists have earned this title through a combination of business results, continued outside education, years behind the chair and a clientele that keeps coming back. They set the tone for the team — teaching, mentoring, and pushing FORD Salon’s technique and ideas forward. Because their services call for more creative latitude, Creatives charge by the hour.
ADVANCED STYLIST
Advanced Stylists have completed our full in-house training path and built real strength on the floor, backed by a strong, established clientele. At this level, new opportunities open up: mentoring our Associates, co-leading in-house education, and taking part in advanced classes and educator programs with our industry partners. They’re as invested in the team’s growth as they are in their own.
EXPERIENCED STYLIST
Our Experienced Stylists have put in the reps. They’ve built a steady, loyal clientele and hit a string of personal and business goals along the way. They know how to read a client’s hair and lifestyle quickly, and they bring a calm, practiced hand to every service — the kind of confidence that only comes from doing the work, over and over, and getting it right.
RISING STAR STYLIST
Rising Stars have completed the FORD Salon Academy training program and are building real momentum with a clientele of their own. Like our Associates, they still have Creative and Advanced team members close by to support more complex services, and they keep sharpening their skills between appointments, including delivering the FORD Signature shampoos, scalp massage, treatments and blow-outs you receive.
ASSOCIATE STYLIST
Associate Stylists are enrolled in the FORD Salon Academy training program. They’re currently gaining confidence to work with and build a clientele. While on the floor, these stylists have access to support from our Creative and Advanced team during your service. In their down-time from styling, they assist our stylists and provide you with great FORD Salon Signature “Lather Lounge” experience shampoos, scalp massage treatments and blow-outs.
